Cute photo. Who won? Or was it a draw...

These two have been playing tug for years ... They are pretty evenly matched. See also a tug to the bitter end in 2006 and a game of snog tug in 2005!

And many other times too :-)

I used to play tug a lot with my girlfriend Josie. Now I run off with a toy and she chases me and we both get a lot of exercise.

BTW my breeder is getting a new puppy, a Scottish Deerhound from Sweden. She just loves the breed, used to have Borzoi then switched to Bedlingtons and wants one Deerhound to show and maybe take lure coursing. I can't wait to meet him when he gets here!

A deerhound! Beautiful. There's a well loved type of lurcher which is beddie x whippet/greyhound. They can look a little like mini-deerhounds. :-) - which is just what people expect a lurcher to look like, little realising a lurcher can look like many, many different things, depending on the cross.

I would love a beddie-whippet lurcher. I've seen a couple at agility shows ... and Rudy, I see you're a fine agility dog, which bodes well! It's just not the right time now.

Pic of Jake with insane toothy grin

Jake is a black & tan lurcher, adopted from Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home in August 2004. He now lives the life of Riley in a leafy suburb of Edinburgh. His interests include agility, running like the wind, enticing other dogs to chase him, fellow sighthounds Molly & Steve, squirrels, swans, plush swans, swans on telly, Portobello beach, the Edinburgh hills, sofas, & snoozing.

Jake wears Earth Dog hemp collars from Mango Mutt. His collar tag (compliant with KC agility regs) is from the excellent Indigo Collar Tags.
